Let me guide you through fun and playful ways of moving, carefree and joyously.
Nia is a beautiful practice for anyone looking to gently ease into feeling more Joy, playfulness and confidence in their body.
The movements in Nia support you to feel fit and healthy with
out going to monotonous exercise classes, whilst floating in a magical soundscape of tunes.
Groove your body to this huge variety of music and bathe in the company of like minded souls.

In Nia we learn to not judge or monitor "how we look".
We are seeking the sensation of Joyous movement and this way of exercising becomes addictive and very fulfilling. From listening and sensing inside your body you learn to
move in "Your Body's Way".  With guidance and structure Any Body can
move it, shake it and find the Joy in moving once again.

Nia is an expressive movement program that offers an artistic and innovative approach
to fitness and healing. Blending aspects of Martial Arts, Dance Arts, and Healing Arts,
Nia provides a variety of movement dynamics to create an experience that involves
your whole body - mind - spirit.

Nia is vibrant and yet serene, incorporating mindfulness and fitness.
Discover how beautiful you can feel no matter where you are at in life.

I offer a Gentle Nia and Classic Nia class.

Gentle Nia is an easy, balancing and mindful class which gently entices you out of your normal movement patterns and into variety. As we journey through life it is important to keep developing our stability, mobility and flexibility. This enhances safety on our feet and expands confidence in what your body is capable of. More confidence in your body means more choices you can make along your journey.

Classic Nia is mindful movement with a more up tempo beat for a vigorous workout (if you like).  No matter where you are at...... perhaps dancing was a 'thing of your past' or you haven't exercised in a while, this class will gently and joyously ease you into feeling good in your body.
'Come home' and sense the pleasure of moving once again.

In either class you personalise the movements and the intensity for "Your Body's Way".

It's poetry in movement.  Jayne

Every time I come to class I think "oh that was my favourite routine".  Bev W

Michelle is so giving of herself and fully embodies Nia (& life) and expresses it through her teaching on the dance floor. The moves are flowing, with a dash of groove and great vibes.  I highly recommend getting on the dance floor with Michelle and giving Nia a go! Carol H

Michelle is a lovely person who teaches us to be present & mindful of our bodies & what our bodies are trying to tell us. After all,our bodies are only our physical vehicle in this world. We are so much more than just physical beings. We are emotional & spiritual bodies as well. Michelle helps us to bring all those bodies together so we can live in "oneness" within ourselves. All coming together through gentle movement. I am only new to this modality, but I thoroughly recommend you give it a try. Awesome to be part of.      Trish H

Michelle is a wonderful teacher. Her classes are great fun. Every class we are learning to be more flexible. To be strong in our movements, balanced on our feet, and be in rhythm with the music. A great workout and great fun.   Marcelle

Dancing with Michelle is many things, fun, amusing, filled with laughter and sometimes challenging.  It's such a gentle but exciting new way to move and exercise, it sneaks you into a higher heartbeat and sweat and has been a big positive for me personally.  It has improved and strengthened my body and balance.  It will benefit all ages and abilities as the idea is to move and learn your body's natural capacity level's and gently improve at your own pace...  It doesn't matter if your perfect in your move's it's about connection between mind and body...and growth...see you there..  Heather G

Michelle is such an amazing teacher. Her smile alone lifts me up! Love dancing with her!  Sarah W

I am an Indigenous midwife and have found Nia offers a unique journey of transformation particularly supportive for individuals who have a history of trauma. Michelle facilitates a reconnection to ones' body with a gentle, fun, non threatening approach that embodies potential to discover the delight of movement. Nia refreshes and reinvigorates my relationship with my body creating an opportunity to discover a whole new way of being through mindful movement.  Marianne W
